Last week all the children in Reception visited the Naturalis Museum in Leiden. The children saw lots of animals and also a few dinosaurs! So this week at the EAL table, we have been focusing on dinosaurs. We have been talking about what they look like and what they eat using words such as long necks, sharp teeth, big feet, spikes, horns, meat, leaves etc. We read a book about dinosaurs, we drew our own dinosaurs and talked about what happened to the dinosaurs (one girl told me that they are not dead - they are just hiding). We even made up a couple of new dinosaur names: Longosaurus, Tara-osaurus and Sausageosaurus.
Luka said: "Dinosaurs only die a long, long time ago."
Seyf was not impressed with the Velociraptor: "His hair look like a monkey!"
Connor said: "Some of them have long necks. The spikes to put in the sun and makes them hot."
Adrian coloured his dinosaur green and said, "to hide in the trees."
