Spring is nearly here!

We eagerly await the arrival of spring in Reception.  Here are some things the children had to say when we asked them about spring.

Seyf:  "In 21 March it's coming spring!"

Despoina:  "When it's spring the leaves go back on the trees."

Lucas V.: "The sun makes a plant grow."

Viola:  "Flowers come out."

We looked at pictures of things we see in spring and played bingo with them.

The children were given picture cards showing the life cycle of a chicken and were asked to arrange them in order. There was a bit of a debate whether the hen sitting in the nest came before or after the actual egg.

The children were then given their own sheets to color, cut, and paste to show the life cycle of a chicken.

In the coming weeks we will be looking at the life cycle of a plant, butterfly, and frog, among other things.  We leave you with the age-old question, "Which comes first, the chicken or the egg?"
