Year 6 grammar focus
The Year 6 children who started in the beginning of this school year with little or no English have made incredible progress this school year and I am very proud of all of them. All year we have been building up vocabulary, learning about the English language and we have drawn parallels between the children's home/identity languages and English.
Recently, we have been learning about pronouns. The children were asked to write down all the English pronouns they could think of:
Afterwards we sorted them into groups such as subject pronouns, object pronouns and possessive pronouns. We discussed how they are used and we constructed sentences using pronouns.
Adam, Alanis, Alicia and Lukas have had a positive attitude towards learning all year and I am sure they will be very successful secondary students. Good luck.
