Year 6P EAL students have been taking the time to grow their story seed through all their senses in the Writer's Workshop. To give them a fuller range of written expression, students have written their first fast draft writing on an important memory in their mother tongue, thinking about what they can see, touch, feel and hear. They have then translated their well-formed thoughts from their language into English, relying only on google translate for academic words they were unsure of in English. Moving through two languages has made their memories come to life as more interesting word choices were carried over from their stronger language.
