We have started doing some very interesting work in Y6 lately!
We have been looking at how different affixes add meaning to words.
(An affix is an addition to the base form of a word in order to change its meaning or create a new word.)
So for example we explored how the affix therm- can be combined with other words to make new words or phrases.
It is very exciting to see how our EAL students explore the connections between the English words and the words in their home languages.
