Houses & Homes in EAL- Flexible use of our Languages
In Year 1 we have been very busy exploring different kind of houses, not just the outside but also the inside. During this process we make use of the children's prior knowledge in their Mother Tongue which we transfer into English. This helps them learn English better. We use the iPad, mother, fathers, brothers and sisters or language buddies to help us unlock these languages. How can you help your child? Have a chat about this topic in your Mother Tongue and help them develop not only their Mother Tongue but also their English further… Enjoy this video that was shot last week and learn a word in a new language yourself.
