In Reception we have been having lots of fun these last
couple of months as the children have been learning English. It is heartwarming
to see that the children are not afraid to communicate even though their
vocabulary is rather limited. They are happy to share their ideas with me and
they tell me about their families and past experiences. Some children make
mistakes, others mix in words from their mother tongue but the main thing is
that we understand each other and we are getting better with our English..
Here are a few examples of the things the children have been
telling me recently:
“Dit is for me.”
“My mum, she love green.”
“I know that game. In Japanese school is that.”
“Today daddy happy
birthday with cupcakes.”
“I have to found it and when we finish it we have to say
bingo.”
“I have a cold in me.”
And my favourite:
“My favourite colour is donut.”
Well, mine too,
