Year 1 - A Winter's Day

We have been learning about winter activities because it's getting cold here in The Netherlands.  In class the students are looking at SEQUENCING WORDS.  These are words that tell you the ORDER that things happen.

FIRST we read a book called 'Olivia's Snow Day'.  You can see it on You Tube here, and you can talk about what you would do on a snowy day.  It is great if you can use your Mother Tongue to do this because it will help us make connections in English!

Next we talked about what we would do on a snow day.  Ms Miriam wanted to know what order we would do these things, so we used these words:

Finally we used these pictures to help us talk about what we would do on a snowy, snowy day.  Listen for us using FIRST, NEXT/THEN, FINALLY!
