Using real life objects (realia) supports vocabulary learning in Young Learners.
Last week students learned the names of various craft items they could use to make their puppets. At home they added the name in their Mother Tongue so that they could shop for these items if they wanted to make their puppets again, relating their learning to the real world.
To prepare students for their next Year 2 IPC topic on Food the students were introduced to the vocabulary related to different food groups and the food pyramid.
