Parents as Language Partners:
Supporting Bilingualism at Home
Speaker: Eowyn Crisfield
On 23rd September at 8.30am, we
will be holding our Language Acquisition Information Morning. At this time the EAL, Mother Tongue and Dutch departments will be available to explain our
programmes, and answer your questions.
This year we have a special presentation from
a very experienced researcher and speaker; Eowyn Crisfield. Eowyn's session will look at the key elements of
the parent's role in school-based bilingualism, and help parents understand
their role in their children’s bilingual development. Parents will also learn
about key strategies in planning for success and how to apply these to their
own families.
Eowyn
Crisfield is a Canadian-educated specialist (BA TEFL, MA Applied Linguistics)
in teaching English as a second/foreign language, teacher-training and
bilingualism. Since 2003, she has specialised in the area of parent and teacher
education for bilingualism. Eowyn is an accredited educational consultant and
works with schools in the Netherlands and abroad, and works as a lecturer in pre-service
teacher education.
