Year 4 - Newspaper Reports (The 5 W's)

We are getting ready to write newspaper reports in class.  We noticed that the first paragraph of a newspaper report always has the 5 w's in it: WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE WHY (and how).

Ms Miriam talked about some fairy tales she knew and asked if we knew any in our mother tongue or our identity language which is Russian.

We told her about the story of the Wolf and the Goats.  Here it is in Russian for you to look at.

Then Ms Miriam worked on the 5 w's of the story in English and we worked on the 5 w's in Russian.  This really helps us connect the concept of the 5 w's by seeing it in both languages.

Here are our popsicle sticks... we picked one each to talk about.
