What a difference a year makes! Year 2

It’s that time of year when ISH teachers have been writing end of year reports.and we comment on students’ achievements and progress.

At the start of the year in Term 1  the Writing Workshop unit was Small Moment stories, students wrote true stories about themselves, based on their own experiences.

Now in Term 3 the genre is Realistic Fiction and this student has come a long way. She is writing a series of books based on one character, called Harmeli.

She has learned the features of the Writing genre, her writing pieces are lengthy, her sentences convey meaning, she knows how to use a range of punctuation and she is applying illustration techniques, recently learned from an illustration study.

Working in collaboration with class teachers great things can be achieved and wonderful progress can be made to support our linguistically gifted learners.
