Writing instructions for board games

In year 2 this week we have been looking at game board instructions. We have worked together to write instructions to help us play the Sinterklaas game. We will be able to use these original instructions in the game boards we are designing in the class room. 

We played the game with the new instructions to see if they work.

One group decided that Sinterklaas lost his hat (mijter), so they had to run to the previous hat. Very original and perfect in the theme of the game!

Reminding each other of the rules helped everyone.

Different instructions were drafted up by every group!

We also practiced our 'game language'!

Writing your own instructions can be hard work!
