Reception - Using Our Noses

Now that summer is in the air there are a lot of different sights to see and scents to smell. This is great for working on vocabulary to do with the senses! It gets the chldren talking about things they can see, hear, taste, smell and touch, and allows them to make comparisons between different things and talk about preferences. This week in EAL, we have been taking advantage of this by talking about our houses and familiar area, and identifying things we can smell.

"Twelvty (12) is before thirten (13)" - Antoni and Omar (with Chris), organising the numbers in order 1 - 15 after working out which ones the scents matched

"Yuuuuuuck!" - Janeck after smelling liquorice

"Mmmm, this is nice!" - Laura and Goda, also after smelling liquorice
